Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a team-oriented Cashier/Stocker to perform front-end duties, stock merchandise, and assist in store operations. In the absence of the Store Manager, you will lead the team and authorize refunds, manage cash, and ensure safety and loss prevention.

This role emphasizes customer service and efficient store operation. Responsibilities include unloading shipments, stocking shelves, handling registers, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to provide exemplary customer service and leadership in absence of store management.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and loss prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and follow prescribed receiving processes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays and maintain plan-o-grams.
• Operate cash register, bag items, collect payments, and provide change.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; support endcap and sidewalk displays.
• Open/close the store under direction of Area Manager.
