We are seeking an energetic, community-oriented, and experienced individual to serve as a Lead Cashier at our Germantown location. This is a part-time position, anticipated to be 20-29 hours per week. If you have team experience and a passion for excellent customer service, we want to hear from you!

Requirements

Customer Service

• Greet customers warmly and learn the names of frequent shoppers.
• Treat all customers fairly, consistently, and with respect.
• Respond promptly and courteously to customer requests and complaints, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Familiarize yourself with co-op policies and products to assist customers effectively.
• Refer unresolved issues to the shift manager or appropriate staff.
• Call for backup as needed to reduce wait times.
• Assist prospective members with the joining process or refer them to the manager.
• Help reinstating members after a lapse in membership.

Cash Register Operation

• Process transactions accurately and efficiently, using correct prices and departments.
• Read produce price sheets and know common item prices.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the manager.
• Document all cash transactions properly.
• Ensure receipt paper and ribbons are stocked.
• Enforce policies on check cashing and shopping privileges.
• Follow opening and closing procedures as scheduled.
• Adhere to security procedures for cash handling and theft prevention.

Cleaning and Stocking

• Keep the cashier area clean and organized.
• Assist in returning shopping baskets and carts.
• Maintain an adequate supply of shopping bags.
• Perform cleaning duties at opening and closing as directed.
• Dispose of returns properly.

Other Duties

• Report equipment issues promptly.
• Follow all Weavers Way policies and procedures.
• Assist with inventory counts and reviews.
• Attend scheduled meetings.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Be aware of silent alarms and security procedures for theft or emergencies.
