Job summary

American University in Washington, DC, is seeking a part-time Proctor for the Washington College of Law to guide students on exam instructions and maintain a secure testing environment. The role is on-site at the Tenley Campus with in-person supervision during mid-terms and finals.

Reporting to the Law School Registrar, the proctor will work up to 20 hours per week during exam periods, and the position can be paired with other on-campus jobs. Current AU graduate students only.

Qualifications

• Current graduate student at American University; due to nature of the position, current law students are not eligible.
• Comfortable reading and speaking in front of groups with a clear and articulate voice.
• Ability and willingness to take and follow instructions.
• Ability to collaborate with others in a professional and courteous manner.
• Punctuality, flexibility, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Law students by administering examinations.
• Work in person at the Tenley Campus during mid-term and exam periods each semester.
• Other duties as assigned.
