Job summary

The City of Annapolis Police Department is offering a part-time Cadet position requiring 20–30 hours per week. Cadets will perform a variety of civilian duties under direct supervision in multiple divisions and will receive on-the-job training in basic law enforcement skills.

Candidates must be 18–21, be U.S. citizens, and reside in Maryland prior to appointment. The program includes Ride-along events at least once a month and compliance with all department policies.

Qualifications

• Age 18–21 at time of application.
• U.S. citizenship and Maryland residency prior to appointment.
• Valid Maryland driver’s license prior to appointment.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical duties.
• Learn and apply city law enforcement policies and procedures.
• Learn standard radio broadcasting procedures.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with department personnel, city personnel and citizens.
• Participate in formal training programs.
• Assist with evidence processing and storage.
• Assist with parking enforcement and traffic control.
