Job summary

Emerald in Omaha is seeking a part-time Housekeeping/Laundry Aide to keep resident rooms, common areas, and laundry areas clean and safe. You will follow infection control policies and use cleaning equipment and chemicals as directed.

Responsibilities include cleaning rooms, mopping and sanitizing surfaces, laundering linens, storing items, and reporting repairs. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred, especially in healthcare.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of equipment.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Positive attitude and commitment to resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas according to schedule and procedures.
• Dust, mop, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces as assigned.
• Collect and launder linens, towels, and residents’ personal clothing.
• Fold, sort, and distribute clean laundry to proper locations.
• Label resident cloths as applicable.
• Operate laundry and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow proper infection control and isolation cleaning procedures.
• Use appropriate chemicals and cleaning solutions as directed.
• Report needed repairs or maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Maintain housekeeping cart and storage areas in a clean, organized manner.
• Provide respectful and courteous service to residents and staff
