Job summary

Prairie View A&M University seeks to establish a pool of qualified applicants for potential adjunct instructor positions in Languages and Communication. These are non-tenure track, part-time roles (<50% effort), with responsibilities limited to teaching listed courses.

Selected applicants may teach up to 7 undergraduate/graduate SCH per semester, with a focus on student mentoring, records, and timely grade posting, and may work in person, remote, or hybrid formats as applicable.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Level: doctorate or master’s in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with concentration (18 graduate SCH) in the teaching discipline.
• Graduate Level: earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline or related discipline.
• Prior collegiate teaching experience and knowledge of online learning systems are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 7 undergraduate/graduate SCH per semester (<50% FTE).
• Maintain and manage student records and post grades timely.
• Submit attendance reporting and mentor students.
• Post and maintain office hours for at least 3 hours weekly.
• Attend orientation/meetings as required by department.
• Perform other duties as assigned by department head.
