Job summary

SSM Health in Saint Peters, MO is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join the Phlebotomy department. Under general supervision, you will perform standard lab tasks, may perform phlebotomy and waived testing, and support the laboratory with clerical duties to ensure smooth patient flow.

Shifts are Day Shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. There are no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or 10 years of related work experience.
• One year experience in a laboratory setting.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads lab specimens from instruments and performs waived testing.
• Assists in problem requisitions/specimens.
• May orient new hires.
• Assists customers including answering phones and responding to inquiries.
• Collects, labels, processes and preserves specimens per procedures.
• Enters lab orders in the EMR and related systems.
• Cleans and maintains laboratory supplies and work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
