Job summary

Providence Medford Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Laboratory Assistant to accurately receive, process, and label specimens, and to handle outpatient registrations and data entry. You will work with care teams, vendors and other Laboratory Services staff to ensure timely results.

The role requires at least 2 years of healthcare or related experience and clerical skills, with knowledge of MSP, EMTALA, ABN, and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• 2 years healthcare or related field experience or a combination of applicable experience and education.
• Clerical or client services experience.
• Experience with regulatory compliance including MSP, EMTALA, ABN, HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and label laboratory specimens accurately and timely.
• Register outpatient laboratory encounters and collect complex demographics, insurance, and medical information.
• Operate multiple computer applications to complete patient encounters.
