Job summary

Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR, is seeking a Part-Time/Variable Shift Laboratory Assistant. You will receive, process, and label lab specimens and handle patient data and results while registering outpatient encounters and maintaining registration competency.

You will work with care teams, vendors, and Laboratory Services staff using multiple software applications. The role requires healthcare or related experience, clerical skills, and familiarity with regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• 2 years healthcare or related field experience or combination of applicable experience and education.
• Clerical or client services experience.
• Experience with MSP, EMTALA, ABN, HIPPA regulations.

Responsibilities

• The Asst-Lab 2 is responsible for the accurate and timely receiving, processing, and labeling of laboratory specimens, and the appropriate handling and/or disbursement of laboratory data and patient results.
• Support personnel work with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, vendors, consultants, and other Laboratory Services staff in performing their duty.
• Additionally, this position is responsible for registering outpatient laboratory encounters obtaining complex demographic, insurance, and medical information.
• Successful candidates will maintain up to date knowledge and competency on required registration functions.
• Lab Assistant utilize multiple computer applications in order to complete patient encounters.
