Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Davenport, IA is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Supervisor. This part-time role oversees beneficiaries in the kitchen, manages inventory, menus, ordering, and canteen operations.

It supports our rehabilitation program with hands-on supervision and health-compliant practices. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, ServSafe/Allergen certifications, and kitchen management experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe and Allergen training certifications required.
• Kitchen management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train beneficiaries on Kitchen Safety and Compliance protocols.
• Supervise daily work therapy performance, including cooking and cleaning.
• Provide regular feedback and direction to beneficiaries.
• Ensure compliance with Health Department policies.
• Create and update menus using Cycle Menu Management System.
• Maximize use of donated goods.
• Maintain kitchen and canteen inventories.
• Generate timely orders based on stock, cost, and needs.
• Source and coordinate food donations.
• Monitor canteen sales and card tracking.
• Maintain kitchen log communications.
• Execute Health Department policies.
• Prepare for regular inspections.
• Coordinate with Kitchen Supervisor on all operations.
