Job summary

Qualifications

• State-issued food handling certifications as required.
• Able to read and interpret safety rules and operating manuals.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans by hand or using a commercial dishwasher; ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before reuse.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, including floors, countertops, walls, and equipment; regularly sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen surfaces.
• Properly dispose of waste and recycling materials, ensuring garbage bins are emptied and cleaned regularly.
• Assist in organizing kitchen supplies, utensils, and equipment in their designated places; replenish stock as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, such as ovens, grills, fryers, and refrigerators, to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, following proper sanitation procedures to prevent contamination and foodborne illnesses.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area, including sanitizing tables, chairs, and other surfaces.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for team members and guests.
• Collaborate with culinary and service teams to ensure efficient service and address any cleanliness or sanitation concerns promptly.
• Respond to spills, accidents, or other emergencies that require immediate cleaning and attention.
