Richland Community College is seeking a Part-Time Kitchen Staff member for the Main Campus in Decatur, IL. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of dishware and utensils, restocking cafeterias, and performing prep work as needed.

Work hours vary by shift and may include occasional irregular hours to meet academy needs. Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid food handling license or willingness to obtain one at the college’s expense.

Qualifications

• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with staff and clients.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage workload to meet deadlines in a busy kitchen.
• Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures.

Responsabilités

• Set up and breakdown of dishwashing areas.
• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, silverware, trays, and cooking utensils.
• Place rinsed items in racks and run through the dishwashing machine; wash by hand if needed.
• Dry, sort, and stack clean dishes; transport to cafeterias or storage areas.
• Restock cafeterias, receive food deliveries, and maintain clean kitchen spaces.
• Clean dish machine and sinks; remove trash and recycling to dumpster; sweep and mop floors.
• Perform general and deep cleaning as directed; other duties as assigned.
