Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County is seeking a part-time Dishwasher to support daily kitchen operations at the Downtown Campus. You will operate commercial dishwashers, hand-wash cookware, maintain clean work areas, and help with deliveries as needed.

The role emphasizes food safety, sanitation, and a respectful, welcoming environment for community members served. Hours are Tue–Sat, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM; status non-exempt, hourly pay $21–$23.

Responsibilities

• Scrape, rinse, load, and operate commercial dishwashing machines to clean dishes, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment.
• Hand-wash oversized pots, pans, and cookware that cannot be cleaned in machines.
• Dry, organize, stack, and return clean dishes, pots, and pans to storage areas.
• Set up, maintain, and organize the dishwashing station throughout the workday.
• Monitor dishwashing temperatures and sanitizer levels to ensure proper sanitation.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, and storing incoming deliveries as requested by the Head Chef.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and volunteers in a fast-paced setting.
