Job summary

YMCA of Central Texas is seeking a part-time Child Watch team member to engage and supervise children aged 6 weeks to 13 years. The role emphasizes safety, communication with guardians, and creating a welcoming, energetic environment.

Flexible morning, evening, and weekend shifts are available. Training includes CPR/First Aid within 30 days, with emphasis on reliability, punctuality, and teamwork in a busy, family-focused YMCA setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Pass reference checks, criminal history background check, Sex Offender Registry check, and pre-employment drug screen.
• Stand for full shift; lift up to 40 lbs.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification within first 30 days of employment.
• Minimum age 17.
• 12 months experience with children (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive Child Watch supervision for ages 6 weeks to 13 years.
• Engage with children, ensuring safety and positive interaction.
• Demonstrate dependable, punctual attendance and teamwork.
• Communicate effectively with parents and YMCA staff.
