Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Compassion for animals and commitment to their comfort and well-being.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and schedules.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Professional, courteous communication with clients and coworkers.
• Willingness to learn safe animal handling and restraints.
• Able to lift and move animals up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provides compassionate care to pets
• Feeds animals as prescribed; records appetites, water intake, and waste
• Monitors pets for distress or illness and reports concerns
• Assists veterinarians and technicians with restraint
• Maintains hospital cleanliness and ensures safe use of chemicals
• Performs daily cleaning and sanitizing of cages, runs, and wards
• Prepares weekly/monthly chore lists for hospital upkeep
• Prioritizes tasks and maintains kennel laundry
• Provides pets with fresh bedding and walks as scheduled
• Follows written/oral directions and communicates clearly
• Performs other duties as assigned by Manager
• Maintains professionalism with clients and coworkers amid interruptions
• Understands services and health recommendations and communicates to clients
• Handles difficult or aggressive pets safely
