About Us

Founded in 2006, Mālama Kauaʻi is a community‑based, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that focuses on increasing local food production and access for Kaua‘i. We do this through a lens of resilience and sustainability, which leverages workforce and economic development efforts, partnerships and innovative programs to grow community capacity.

The Internship

This is a part‑time, temporary role from May 25th through July 31st on Mondays and Fridays; hours will be 8am to 3:30pm. You will be supporting our keiki meal box program which provides farm fresh foods to hundreds of in‑need keiki on Kauaʻi, including:

• Helping to pack and load/unload food boxes
• Intaking products from local food producers and verifying quantities
• Assisting with cleaning and organizing the packing area

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with:

• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite in Lihue
• Teamwork skills and an aloha‑first attitude
• Good work ethic and flexibility to respond to changing needs
• Ability to repeatedly lift boxes up to 40lbs
• Ability to focus on tasks and count items accurately

Pay & Benefits
