Job summary

Tradewind Subs is hiring Tutors to provide academic support to students in K-12 schools throughout Los Angeles County. You will work one-on-one and in small groups to help students build skills, gain confidence, and succeed in the classroom.

Responsibilities include tutoring in core subjects, reinforcing instruction, and adapting lessons to individual needs while maintaining safety and following school policies. This is a part-time, in-person role with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of recent experience working with children or adolescents in education, tutoring, childcare, mentoring, coaching, or a related field.
• Preferred: 48 college credits.
• DOJ/FBI Livescan fingerprint clearance.
• TB risk assessment or test.
• Valid authorization to work in the United States.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout a school campus.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
• Ability to respond quickly to student and safety needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring in core subjects such as reading, writing, and math.
• Reinforce classroom instruction and help students complete assignments and prepare for assessments.
• Adapt lessons and strategies to each student's learning needs, goals, and pace.
• Support students with disabilities and learning needs in accordance with IEPs and school plans.
• Encourage positive study habits, communication skills, and student engagement.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment by following school policies and emergency procedures.
• Track student progress and complete required documentation, including timesheets and session notes.
• Communicate student progress and concerns to teachers and school staff.
