Job summary

Tradewind Subs is hiring part-time tutors to provide one-on-one and small-group academic support in K-12 schools across Los Angeles County. You will reinforce classroom instruction, adapt lessons to each student’s pace, and help with assignments and assessments.

The role requires at least 6 months of relevant experience, DOJ/FBI Livescan clearance, and the ability to work legally in the United States. Flexible hours and weekly pay are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience working with children or adolescents in education, tutoring, childcare, mentoring, coaching, or related field.
• Preferred: 48 college credits.
• DOJ/FBI Livescan fingerprint clearance required, TB risk assessment or test, and legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring in core subjects (reading, writing, math).
• Reinforce classroom instruction and help students complete assignments and prepare for assessments.
• Adapt lessons to each student’s learning needs, goals, and pace.
• Support students with disabilities and learning needs per IEPs and school plans.
• Encourage positive study habits, communication skills, and student engagement.
• Maintain a safe, structured learning environment following school policies and procedures.
• Track student progress and complete timesheets and session notes.
• Communicate student progress and concerns to teachers and school staff.
