Job summary

Movement in Sunnyvale is seeking a part-time Jr. Routesetter to join a collaborative setting team. The role requires some route setting experience (2 years or less) and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

You will help prepare and set climbs across terrain, maintain a clean work area, and participate in team feedback to ensure safe, engaging routes for climbers. Starting pay ranges from $27.00 to $30.00 per hour with benefits like gym membership, discounts, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Some experience on a route setting team or in a setting environment.
• Strong understanding of Work at Height standards and safety expectations.
• Desire to further explore the craft of routesetting.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Solid work ethic and ability to manage own workflow.

Responsibilities

• Prepare setting area (boundaries, fixed lines, etc.)
• Strip wall sections to prepare for new routes/problems
• Set high quality skeletons on all terrain types
• Maintain tidy setting area and help clean at day end
• Adhere to safety expectations (Work at Height)
• Forerunning climbs and helping the team grade routes
• Climb product to assist grading and safety validation
• Be open to feedback and follow directions
• Contribute to off-wall tasks and department meetings
• Support anchor/safety inspections and training equipment setup
