Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Job Coach to serve Gloucester, Camden, Cumberland & Salem Counties, New Jersey. The role focuses on teaching job skills and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve successful employment.

The starting pay rate is $18.00 per hour. The Job Coach will work closely with individuals at the job site, analyze requirements, and help them perform tasks with appropriate supports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ full-time work experience in employment or related field.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to analyze a job and break it into manageable components.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in a crisis situation.
• Ability to present ideas and factual data clearly.
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Teach individuals independent job skills using task analysis and supports.
• Work side-by-side with individuals at the job site, breaking requirements into teachable steps.
• Build a support network between the individual and community members.
• Communicate progress to the employer and support people, including family and residential staff.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff in inspections or inquiries.
