The University of North Georgia is seeking a Part-Time IT Systems Technician to configure, deploy, and support services and systems for university business applications. You will support multiple servers, platforms, and applications across testing, development, and production environments.

Responsibilities include configuring outage alerts, auditing backups, and assisting with migrations to new hardware while following policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • At least one year experience in IT or computer repair preferred; Programming/Scripting knowledge a plus.
  • Some related work experience in installing and configuring Microsoft Windows Servers and/or other experience with Microsoft Windows Enterprise products preferred.

Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Part-Time IT Systems Technician. The Systems Technician's mission is to configure, deploy, and support services and systems to provide innovative, flexible, dependable and effective University business applications. Supports multiple servers, platforms, and applications in testing, development and production environments. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with University goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Configure and audit system outage alerts and security log auditing
  • Audit and schedule system backups.
  • Assist with systems migration to new hardware in lifecycle management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Good computer skills and detail oriented.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and strong customer service orientation.

Proposed Salary
  • The proposed salary is: $15.87-$17.46 hour.
