Job summary

National Capital Treatment & Recovery in Arlington, VA is hiring a part-time Counselor for our Coed IOP Program for adults with substance use disorders. The counselor provides direct counseling services individually and in groups under supervision. Schedule is about 15 hours per week, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 11am-3pm.

A 60 credit Master's Degree is required and the ability to become a Resident in Counselor or Supervisee in Social Work upon hire.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field required.
• Licensure as a professional counselor, clinical social worker, or substance abuse practitioner preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in human services/substance abuse treatment.
• Knowledge of ASAM Criteria.

Responsibilities

• Conducts individual and group counseling sessions for clients in residential treatment.
• Coordinate all elements of clients’ treatment and maintain progress notes.
• Complete psychosocial assessments and entrance reviews for new clients.
• Develop and monitor individualized service plans and treatment goals.
