Job summary

Penn Contractors Inc. in Emmaus, PA is seeking a part-time Designer to support design and build projects.

You will work 20-30 hours weekly, in-person, collaborating with Remodeling Consultants, production, and clients to translate visions into cabinetry and architectural designs. The role requires an Associates Degree in Architectural/Interior Design (Bachelor’s preferred) or 10 years’ substitute experience, plus 5 years of design/drafting in construction.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Architectural/Interior Design or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Alternatively, 10 years of design/drafting experience in a construction-related field.
• Professional interior design certifications (AIA, NCIDQ, NKBA) highly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years design and drafting experience in a construction-related field.

Responsibilities

• Use design software to create conceptual sketches with input from RC to define project vision.
• Develop preliminary and final cabinetry designs.
• Create, refine, and share project models to help clients visualize projects.
• Document product selections in company database and pricing for selections.
• Secure approval for product selections and revisions.
• Order finishes, cabinetry, and fixtures with input from Production Manager.
• Coordinate across client, production, and sales teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Accompany clients to showrooms and maintain showroom samples.
• Attend in-house preconstruction meetings and support vendor relationships.
