Job summary

Springfield Local Schools is seeking an Administrative Substitute to provide temporary leadership in the absence of a building or district administrator, ensuring continuity of daily operations and instructional leadership.

The role is part time and exempt, reporting to the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent. Responsibilities include supervising operations, collaborating with staff, maintaining a positive climate, and communicating with students, families, and the community.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio principal certificate/license.
• Master's degree from a accredited college or university.
• Knowledge of Ohio proficiency outcomes and state models of curriculum.
• Desires to aid students, staff and the community.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Skilled in curriculum, teacher evaluation and community relations.
• Alternative qualifications may be considered by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Assume duties of principal or administrator during temporary absence.
• Supervise daily operations including discipline and instructional programs.
• Collaborate with teaching staff for students' best interests.
• Conduct administrative and staff meetings as needed.
• Promote and maintain good public relations with the community.
• Maintain a safe, orderly climate per district policies.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and community.
• Manage school plant and non-instructional staff in cooperation with supervisors.
• Handle responsibilities in potential court-related scenarios.
• Collaborate with district leadership to ensure regulatory compliance.
