Job summary

Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in Hudson, NC is seeking a Part-time Instructor for Truck Driver Training. The role involves delivering accessible, quality learning experiences in classroom and hands-on settings, guiding students to successful outcomes, and providing accurate academic and career advisement.

Authoritative supervision is provided by the Director Truck Driver Training; the position offers up to 25 hours per week and requires CDL-A eligibility or a current license

Qualifications

• Five years of experience driving a tractor trailer required.
• Completion of the twelfth grade required and a certificate or diploma in assigned program.
• Requires the possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Commercial driver's license, class A.

Responsibilities

• Plan and participate in instruction of classes for the program; prepare materials and tests; maintain records.
• Prepare objectives, assignments, grading standards and syllabus for first class meeting; select texts; prepare, proctor and grade tests.
• Provide course outlines for each class; begin and end class on time; revise content as needed; administer evaluations; develop new courses.
• Assist in evaluation of program operations ensuring alignment with college goals and student needs.

• Prepare objectives, assignments, grading standards, attendance polices and course syllabus to be distributed at first class meeting; select text books; prepare, proctor and grade tests; prepare instructional materials and aids.
• Provide supervisor with objectives and course outlines for each class; begin and end each class on time; turn in reports, final grades and other forms on time; revise course content and objectives as required; administer student evaluations each term; develop new courses in field as required.
• Assist in the evaluation of activities and operations of assigned program; ensure that operations meet the goals and objectives of the college and the needs of the student population.
