Job Description

SUMMARY
Under administrative leadership, it is the responsibility of part time faculty to perform tasks which support advancement of the visions, missions, and values of the colleges and District. Part time faculty have responsibilities in regards to their classroom assignment, evaluation of students, curriculum, student advising, professional development, and any assignment-specific needs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography, or paleontology OR
  • Bachelor's in oceanography AND Master's in geology, geography, physics, earth sciences, meteorology or paleontology OR
  • The equivalent.
Working Conditions

Faculty positions may require long periods of standing and walking in a typical classroom setting. Specific conditions may vary by subjects taught.

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, a two-college district in eastern San Diego County, has been providing a high-quality education to the region since Grossmont College opened its doors in 1961 and Cuyamaca College began operating in 1978. GCCCD recruits for Part Time Faculty positions year-round. Applications will be kept in the pool for a period of one year, and contacted for interviews on an as-needed basis.
