Part‑Time Instructor Pool – Computer Science

Job Number: 12-2021-PP23 | Job Type: PT Credit Faculty | Closing: Continuous | Location: Santa Barbara, CA | Department: Computer Science

Essential Functions

• Provide quality instruction and maintain an engaging learning environment.
• Teach core computer science courses such as Introduction to Computer Science, Theory and Practice I and II, Discrete Structures, and other courses assigned by the department.
• Balance lecture and laboratory assignments as determined by the department.
• Be available to students outside of class and provide academic support.

Pay

Hourly rates: $102.90 per hour for lecture, $82.33 per hour for laboratory instruction. With a doctorate: $107.87 per hour lecture, $86.30 per hour laboratory.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science or computer engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in either of the above and a Master's in mathematics, cybernetics, business administration, accounting, or engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering and a Master's in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration.
• Bachelor's degree in mathematics and a Master's in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration.
• Bachelor's degree in any of the above and a Master's degree in information science, computer information systems, or information systems.
• Or possess a combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent to all of the above, with documented equivalency.
• Provide evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.
