Job summary

Central New Mexico Community College invites qualified individuals to join its part-time instructor pool. Instructors are expected to prepare, teach, grade, and assess student learning in assigned courses and to collaborate with the Dean and colleagues to improve the student learning experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher; or actively pursuing with a written plan to complete in 3 years or less.
• Current National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or licensed Pharmacist.
• Current NM Board of Pharmacy Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist.
• Current memberships in state and national pharmacy or education associations (proof of membership required).
• Minimum of five years of experience in the practice of pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, teach, grade, and assess student learning in courses assigned.
• Create and model a quality learning environment for a diverse student population including students with disabilities or special learning needs.
• Maintain student records and provide documentation for incompletes within established College timelines.
• Utilize technology-based programs to access and input information related to student records and college/school/department processes.
• Assist students with registration, advising, and graduation processes.
• Structure classes and curriculum to correspond with program and course outcomes.
• Prepare, distribute and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate.
• Convene classes as scheduled and respond to student inquiries.
• Assist students outside the classroom through posted office hours.
• Attend in-service sessions, college/school/department meetings, graduation and convocation as required.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned

Position Summary

Being hired into the regular part-time instructor pool is not a guarantee of employment. Classes are assigned on an as‑needed basis. Hours will vary each class and by term. The number of openings for instructors is dependent upon student enrollment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher
  OR Actively pursuing at least an Associate's Degree with a written, documented plan to be completed in 3 years or less.
• Current National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or licensed Pharmacist.
• Current NM Board of Pharmacy Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or a Pharmacist.
• Current memberships in state and national pharmacy or education associations (proof of membership required) .
• Minimum of five years of experience in the practice of pharmacy.

Preferences

• Two years' recent teaching or training experience in Pharmacy Technician field.
• Experience with current ASHP/ACPE Accreditation Standard.
• Experience with current issues, trends, and developments in pharmacy technician instruction.
