Job summary

The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a part-time Jumpstart instructor for Automotive at the North Las Vegas campus. You will teach CSN Jumpstart classes at high schools, coordinating with the CSN Dual Credit Office, delivering lectures and labs, and assessing student progress according to the curriculum.

Preferred candidates bring automotive diagnostics/repair experience and prior teaching exposure, with familiarity in Canvas or other LMS; salary is set per class per semester.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be pre-approved by the Department of Applied Technology before applying in Workday.
• CCSD Business and Industry License or Secondary Education Teaching License.
• ASE Certification: A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems for AUTO 115.
• ASE Certifications: A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems, A1 Engine Repair for AUTO 136.

Job Description

Teach pre-approved CSN Jumpstart Classes at your high school incoordination with the CSN Dual Credit Office.

• Lecture and lab instruction
• Instruct students in accordance with the curriculum standardsand objectives
• Independently grade and prepare progress reports in accordancewith school policy.
• Evaluate the performance of students regarding achievements incurriculum and activities and make necessary provisions to meetlearning needs.
• Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensureadherence with safety precautions.

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of automotive diagnostic and repair shopexperience
• One-year equivalent full time teaching experience
• Recently taken or taught Automotive courses at CSN
• Knowledge of computer classroom technologies
• Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems

Jumpstart Salary:

$1,000.00 per class per semester
