Job summary

Tulsa Tech is seeking a Part-time Instructor for Heavy Equipment Operator at the Lemley Memorial Campus. The role requires a minimum of three years of industry experience and NCCER HEO Instructor Certification. Evening hours are required during spring and fall semesters.

Instructors will lead competency-based lessons, manage HEO simulators, and maintain accurate attendance and progress records. Teaching experience and safety compliance are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of recent industry experience in heavy equipment operation, construction, earthmoving, or a related field.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and equipment maintenance practices required.
• Teaching, training, mentoring, or workforce development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter.
• Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.
• Effectively manage the classroom and HEO simulator scenarios to create an optimal learning environment.
• Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.
• Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.
• Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism.
• Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech's ACD program.
• Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.
• Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.

Position Description:

Flexibility to work two evenings per week as scheduled throughout the spring and fall semesters required.

Salary Schedule:

Standard rate schedule for non-regular (temporary, adjunct, substitute) and regular part-time employees.

Hiring Range:

$35 per hour
