Position Status: Part Time
The Department of History, School of Arts and Sciences-Newark (SASN), Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), is seeking part-time instructor(s) (Lecturer/Coadjutant) for the Spring 2027 semester to teach 20th Century World. The successful candidate will cover the full range of duties associated with teaching, including, but not limited to, preparing course material; creating and posting a course syllabus; presenting material during the assigned course times; holding office hours and providing appropriate out-of-class time for students; responding to student e-mails; conducting and grading assessments of students through assignments, exams, and other means, in a timely manner; and submitting final grades. Course appointments may require instruction during the day, in the evenings, on weekends, off-campus, online, hybrid, remotely, or any combination of these, based on the academic needs of the department/unit.
Minimum Education and Experience: Master's degree required. Ph.D., J.D., or other terminal degree strongly preferred. Experience teaching 20th Century World at the university level is highly desired.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must. Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level is highly desired.
