Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a part-time Instructional Paraprofessional to support teachers at Central Canyon Elementary during the 26-27 school year. This temporary 1-year position requires assisting students through individual, small group, and whole-class activities under supervision.

The role emphasizes helping with instructional activities, maintaining a positive learning environment, and supporting classroom staff.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework or an Associate's Degree in education or related field.
• Previous aide or teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of child growth and development and appropriate classroom practices.
• Demonstrated ability to assist with instructional activities.
• Knowledge of subject matters and ability to instruct students at the direction of the teacher.
• Knowledgeable with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Works well with students, staff, and the public.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure and deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the K-12 Teacher or Building Principal to achieve educational goals.
• Provide tutorial help to students following lessons prescribed by the teacher.
• Give immediate feedback on student performance to students and supervising teacher.
• Respond to students' questions and requests for assistance.
• Observe students' work and study habits.
• Assist students in locating instructional materials and starting assignments.
• Assist the classroom teacher in delivering an effective instructional program.
• Support individual students or small groups to reinforce material and skills.
• Help students master equipment or instructional materials.
• Provide individualized instruction activities as directed by the supervising teacher.
• Identify pupil needs and provide instruction accordingly.
• Follow IEPs for modifications and accommodations.
• Assist with large group activities like drill, reading aloud, storytelling.
• Guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial work.
• Assist students in the library or media center.
• Check notebooks, correct papers, supervise tests and makeup work.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, field trips.
• Administer, score, and record tests as recommended by the teacher.
• Encourage students to reach their highest potential.
