Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a Part-Time Instructional Aide at Capital City Sports Academy in Columbus, Ohio. The Instructional Aide assists the Teacher with classroom activities and helps promote positive student behaviors in both academics and extracurricular activities.

The role includes clerical tasks, helping with classroom technology, and supporting school activities and events. Starting hourly rate is $15.00/hour, with potential adjustments based on experience and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI background check.
• Ability to meet educational standards.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons and follows instructional plans for individual students or groups.
• Assists with planning classroom activities and communicates with parents.
• Helps with school activities and events, e.g. field trips, assemblies and chaperoning.
• Performs clerical duties such as grading papers and making copies.
• Assists teachers with the use of classroom technology.
• Maintains cleanliness of classroom and lunchroom areas.
• Adheres to the school’s philosophy and mission in daily activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
