Job summary

Illinois Central College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Electronics, industrial electrical, motor controls, PLCs, and digital electronics at the East Peoria Campus. The position is part-time, with up to 12 contact hours per semester and requires maintaining office hours to support student success.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction per syllabi, coordinating courses, and collaborating with faculty to enhance the student experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2000 hours of work experience in industrial electrical, industrial maintenance, or related field.
• Ability to instruct students by explaining, demonstrating and overseeing their exercises and giving advice on the immediate topic.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coordinate courses including lecture and/or lab-based classes ensuring all necessary materials and tools are readily available and that safety standards are met, when appropriate.
• Follow syllabi for assigned courses communicating the expectations and schedule for the classwork.
• Maintain office hours and availability.
• Communicate with students working to ensure student success.
• Collaborate with Faculty and Staff to continuously improve and adapt the student experience to meet the needs of the student, community and institution.
• Perform related duties as required.

Education

Associate degree or higher in Industrial Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, or related field
