Job summary

Family Dollar in Portageville, Missouri is seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide excellent service to shoppers. You will assist customers, process transactions at the register, stock shelves, unload trucks, and help maintain a clean, safe store environment.

This is a part-time position offering varied shifts and opportunities to support store operations. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, retail or service experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, etc.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and assist with unloading trucks; stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including restrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
