Job summary

Miller Middle School in Durango, Colorado seeks an In School Suspension Student Support Provider. This part-time role (0.20 FTE) covers eight hours on Mondays and additional Tuesdays when school is not in session. Includes a leave and CO PERA package with a special $360 bonus for early hire.

The position supports suspended students by coordinating academic activities with teachers and monitoring progress while maintaining a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years of college or 48 semester hours, or pass paraprofessional test prior to hire.
• Experience is preferred but not required.
• CPR and First Aid training preferred; CPI training required within three months of hire.
• Colorado driver's license and small vehicle operator permit may be required.
• Criminal background check required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Enforces rules and creates a climate conducive to learning in the in-school suspension program.
• Liaisons with teachers to obtain and return daily work and assigns extra work as needed.
• Assists students with completing regular classroom assignments.
• Monitors students and reports progress to parents and teachers.
• Supervises lunch detention and escorts students during breaks.
• Reports inappropriate behavior to administrative staff.
• Maintains attendance and records for students in the program.
• Participates in professional development.
