Job summary

The Danbury Public Schools invites applications for a LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE – IN-SCHOOL SUSPENSION PARAEDUCATOR at Broadview Middle School. The position supports ISS students with assignments, supervision, and instructional assistance during a 12-week LOA window starting Sept 30, 2026.

The role emphasizes maintaining a safe, structured environment, accurate records, and collaboration with teachers and administrators.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma and 60 college credits or an associate’s degree.
• Completion of ParaPro Assessment or equivalent is required.
• Experience or training with children is preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse learners and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the In-School Suspension classroom.
• Provide instructional assistance and distribute assignments.
• Maintain accurate student records and attendance in ISS.
• Coordinate and distribute cafeteria meals for ISS students.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff.
