Job summary

The League for the Blind & Disabled Home Care Plus Division seeks dedicated part-time Personal Caregivers to assist older adults and people with disabilities at home. Responsibilities include non-medical personal care, mobility aid, meals, light housekeeping, and safety tasks as outlined in the Consumer Care Plan.

The role offers a part-time schedule, with starting wages of $14–$15 per hour depending on experience and a commitment to quarterly training and a drug-free workplace. EOE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of Attendant Care Aide experience or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proof of a negative TB test annually and completion of quarterly trainings.
• Capability to perform personal care, mobility, elimination and safety tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming and hygiene.
• Assist with mobility using proper body mechanics and devices.
• Assist with elimination and toileting needs.
• Follow safety protocols and universal precautions.
• Remind consumer to self-administer medications.
• Assist with correspondence and bill paying.
• Escort to community activities to promote independence.
• Light housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Maintain positive relationships with consumers and professionals.
• Record daily activities for payroll/time sheets.
