Job summary

The League for the Blind & Disabled's Home Care Plus Division is seeking dedicated Personal Caregivers for a part-time, non-exempt role in Fort Wayne. You will provide hands-on, non-medical care in the consumer's home per a personalized plan, focusing on daily living, self-care, and mobility.

The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and dedication to serving our consumers, with duties spanning personal care, safety, meds reminders, and time-tracking for payroll.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of Attendant Care Aide experience.
• Requires ability to work with older adults and disabled individuals in home settings.
• Demonstrates reliability, problem-solving, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility assistance.
• Assist with bedpan, bedside commode and toilet; provide incontinent care as needed.
• Ensure safety and apply universal precautions; monitor health concerns.
• Remind consumer to self-administer medications and manage reminders.
• Escort to community activities and assist with meals and light housekeeping.
• Maintain daily activity entries for payroll; submit time sheets bi-weekly.
• Must provide proof of negative TB test annually and complete quarterly training.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
