Job summary

Legal Aid Society of Hawaiʻi seeks two part-time law clerks (10 hours/week) to support immigration attorneys in client representation and document preparation. Responsibilities include legal research, memo drafting, client intakes, and case prep for USCIS filings.

Position focuses on services for survivors of domestic violence and other crimes, with outreach involvement and the chance to gain practical experience in immigration law.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at an accredited law school as a 2L or 3L at the beginning of the internship.
• Located on Oahu; committed to social justice and public interest.
• Able to work collaboratively with a diverse team and maintain good working relationships.
• Culturally sensitive and able to work with low-income populations.
• Strong work ethic with ability to manage time and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Able to work under pressure in an empathetic and professional manner.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams preferred.
