Job summary

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream in Washington, DC, is seeking part-time Scoopers at its Georgetown scoop shop. You will greet guests, scoop all menu items, and share flavor knowledge while upholding quality and hospitality.

This role offers competitive pay with tips, flexible scheduling, and free ice cream on shift; you must be 18+, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and work at least three shifts per week, including late nights.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Genuine passion for ice cream and desserts.
• Able to push/pull/lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Stand for extended periods and walk stairs.
• Available to work 3 days per week, including nights and weekends past 12 am.

Responsibilities

• Greet every guest warmly with enthusiasm and genuine hospitality.
• Scooping and serving all menu items with quality and presentation standards.
• Educate guests on flavors, ingredients and specials.
• Prepare fresh, house-made menu items daily.
• Operate the Square POS system for a seamless checkout.
• Follow food safety procedures and maintain sanitation.
• Maintain store cleanliness and assist with stocking, inventory, and cleaning.
• Adhere to Van Leeuwen's safety, grooming, and conduct standards.
