Job summary

C-TEC of Licking County is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Part-Time HVAC Instructor to provide hands-on, industry-focused training to adult learners, apprentices, and employees participating in customized workforce programs.

The ideal candidate will have extensive field experience in installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, and will teach a range of related electrical, control, and safety topics in a classroom and lab

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, systems, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, mechanical components, and HVAC operating principles.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to individuals with varying levels of experience.
• Ability to demonstrate practical skills and provide hands-on instruction.
• Commitment to workplace safety and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction related to commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
• Provide training in commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, heating systems, and associated mechanical and electrical components.
• Teach troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment diagnostics, and repair techniques.
• Provide instruction involving commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, air handlers, pumps, and cooling towers, as appropriate to the training program.
• Instruct students on electrical controls, motor controls, variable frequency drives, building automation systems, and HVAC control circuits.
• Develop and deliver customized training based on the specific equipment and workforce needs of local employers.
• Demonstrate proper use of diagnostic equipment, tools, and industry-standard safety practices.
• Assess student knowledge and practical skills through demonstrations, hands-on activities, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional instructional environment.
• Collaborate with C-TEC staff to identify training objectives, develop instructional materials, and evaluate training outcomes.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
