Job summary

Junípero Serra High School, located in San Mateo, CA, is seeking a part-time baseball coach to support the athletic program. The role requires adherence to school values, supervision of athletes, and ongoing skill development in baseball.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of high school coaching experience, strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, and current CPR/First Aid and NFHS or ASEP certification. Onsite employment with collaboration across staff is expected.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of successful experience coaching high school baseball or equivalent.
• Knowledge of fundamental and advanced baseball skills and techniques.
• Ability to teach, enforce, and model appropriate sportsmanship and Christian values.

Responsibilities

• Support the program's philosophy, skills, and techniques.
• Maintain knowledge of sport, school, league, and state rules/by-laws.
• Foster training in conduct, ethics, and sportsmanship for athletes and coaches.
• Supervise athletes before, during, and after workouts.
• Update professional expertise by attending clinics or reading professional literature.
• Collaborate with Athletic Director to resolve issues at the lowest level.
• Perform duties not specified but connected to the Assistant Coaching role.
