Job summary

Ebenezer is seeking a Housekeeper to join our senior cooperative team at Village Coop West Des Moines in West Des Moines, Iowa. This role ensures a clean, safe, and odor-free environment for residents, staff and visitors by cleaning assigned areas of the building.

Schedule is 30 hours every two weeks, part-time day shift with no weekends. Responsibilities include thorough cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing bathrooms, handling spills, maintaining equipment, and following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of previous housekeeping experience.
• 1 year of previous housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned areas of building.
• Performs thorough cleaning of all assigned areas, including vacuums carpets, sweeps and mops hard floor surfaces, dusts and/or damp wipes surfaces, sanitizes bathrooms, cleans all glass windows/mirrors.
• Prioritizes tasks and completes within allotted time.
• Assists in cleaning emergency spills as needed.
• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
• Performs job duties safely, using correct body mechanics and personal protective equipment.
• Safely mixes chemicals according to instructions.
• Safely executes housekeeping tasks, such as the proper way to bend, push, pull and lift.
• Demonstrates precautionary work practices for the safety of others in the work areas, such as electric cords, wet floor signs, etc.
• Maintains cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Maintains housekeeping cart and storage area on daily basis.
• Keeps supplies and tools locked at all times.
• Communicates supplies that need to be re-stocked.
• Communicates need for equipment repairs.
