Job summary

Big Woods Restaurants' Big Woods Pizza in Nashville, IN is seeking a friendly Host to warmly greet guests, manage reservations, and guide seating with a professional touch. This hourly position offers tip sharing and a chance to contribute to a warm, welcoming dining experience.

The ideal candidate will be 16+ and able to stand for extended periods, with weekend availability and a team-oriented mindset. You’ll learn about menu items, daily specials, and support a smooth front-of-house operation.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Strong organizational skills to manage reservations, guest flow, and waitlist efficiently.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage guest expectations during peak dining hours.
• Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate changing business needs and guest preferences.
• Basic computer literacy to manage reservation systems and seating arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and welcome guests as they enter the restaurant.
• Manage the reservation system and accurately record reservations.
• Escort guests to their designated tables, presenting menus and informing them of specials.
• Maintain a well-organized front-of-house area, including the host/hostess station.
• Provide accurate wait time estimates and manage guest expectations during peak hours.
• Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism and escalate to management as needed.
• Collaborate with wait staff to coordinate seating and guest flow.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and daily specials to assist guests.
• Manage the waitlist during busy periods and communicate wait times.
• Assist in keeping front-of-house areas clean and organized.
• Thank guests for dining with us and inquire about their experience.
• Contribute to a positive team environment with supportive communication.
