Job summary

Indiana University Health - Bedford Hospital is seeking a part-time Public Safety officer to conduct rounds and patrols, respond to service calls, and enforce hospital policies and state laws to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. The role requires a high school diploma, 0–3 years of relevant experience, and a current Indiana driver’s license.

Candidates must complete Indiana LEA Tier I/II within 12 months and obtain NCIC/IDACS certification.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of relevant security/public safety experience.
• Requires current Indiana driver’s license (non-restricted).
• Must complete Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Tier I or Tier II within 12 months of appointment.
• Must be able to obtain NCIC/IDACS certification and access.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds and foot/vehicle patrols on IU Health properties.
• Respond to calls for service and enforce IU Health rules and state laws.
• Maintain records and complete required reports and logs.
• Contribute to creating a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors.
