Job summary

The Pharmacist at Rush University Medical Center will assure the effective and efficient provision of pharmaceutical care services across multiple Rush Pharmacy locations. You will be involved in safe, rational, and cost-effective therapeutic decision making and supervise residents, students, and support staff as assigned in all practice areas.

You will report to the immediate supervisor of your assigned practice area and embody Rush's mission, values, policies, and procedures while supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Illinois.
• Effective verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic with demonstrated leadership activities or potential for developing leadership behavior.
• Must be able to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals within the Department of Pharmacy.
• Support and participate in Pharmacy Department goals and objectives; comfortable with change.
• Demonstrates leadership in performance of responsibilities.
• Maintains currency in professional and clinical literature.
• Maintains competency in drug therapy and clinical monitoring.
• Uses standard texts and online drug information resources to inform patient care.
• Communicates effectively with patients, pharmacists, nurses, and physicians.
• Maintains knowledge of hospital policies, safety, inventory, and infection control.
• Participates in educational seminars; completes required competencies.
• Precepts pharmacy students and trains new staff.
