Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ is seeking a part-time Cook in Food and Nutrition for day shifts and every other weekend. You will prepare all food per menu, meet service deadlines, and ensure portions adhere to production guidelines.

We emphasize safety, HACCP compliance and teamwork in a hospital kitchen. The role requires quantity cooking experience and a high school diploma; ServSafe certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Quantity cooking experience required.
• Speaks, reads, and writes English; second language preferred.
• High School graduation or equivalent; ServSafe is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food required by the menu using recipes and production documents.
• Prepares meals for service at specific time deadlines.
• Ensures portions follow production guidelines.
• Uses steamers, ovens, grills, broilers and other equipment safely.
• Tests food with thermometers and tasting; adjusts as needed.
• Follows HACCP and infection control guidelines to ensure safety.
• Participates in department meetings and quality processes.
• Maintains departmental policies and participates in training.
• Assists in cleaning storage areas and rotates stock as needed.
• Monitors temperatures and reports malfunctions; performs related duties.
