Job summary

AccentCare, Inc. is seeking a part-time Volunteer Services Coordinator in San Antonio, TX. This on-site role focuses on coordinating and supervising volunteers across hospice-related activities, with a strong emphasis on bedside volunteering and staff education.

You will recruit, screen, train and support volunteers, maintain records, and coordinate recognition activities while collaborating with the Director-Patient Experience to expand services in the local community.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years professional experience as a volunteer in healthcare, human services or similar agency.
• 2+ years’ experience in a healthcare setting, hospice preferred.
• Ability to coordinate, supervise and evaluate volunteer services.
• Ability to organize, educate and develop volunteer hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs.
• Experience in hospice, especially bedside volunteering, training and supporting adults preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all necessary volunteer records, including up-to-date volunteer lists, availability, assignments, time and personnel records.
• Participate in volunteer recruitment and conduct screening interviews.
• Coordinate volunteer training classes and ongoing education and support meetings with the Director-Patient Experience.
• Coordinate activities of volunteers not involved in direct patient care.
• Assist in developing and implementing the volunteer program using community, regional, and national resources.
• Coordinate Volunteer Recognition activities.
• Assign volunteers to teams and provide necessary information to support patient needs.
