Job summary

AccentCare, Inc. seeks a Hospice Chaplain to provide interfaith spiritual care for Kendall and surrounding areas in South Miami. This part-time role includes on-call rotation, with an hourly salary range reflecting experience.

The chaplain will assess spiritual needs, coordinate with patients’ faith communities, and support families through anticipatory grief and bereavement. A strong background in CPE and hospice experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university or divinity school.
• Ordained, credentialed, or commissioned according to the practices of a legitimate and recognized religious organization or faith tradition.
• Three Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) unit, from ACPE, required.

Responsibilities

• Support families through anticipatory grief and post-death bereavement processes.
• Complete the spiritual needs assessment of a patient and family for all admitted to hospice services.
• Serve as liaison to the patient and family’s community of faith.
• Respond to patient and family needs and support their clergy or spiritual caregiver as relates to terminal illness.
• Build relationships of care and empower patients and families in their spiritual journey.
